At the age of just 23, entrepreneur and growth minded Sara Helmy founded Tribu, a creative branding and advertising agency. She is a strategy focused marketer with a love for digital space and stellar design. Sara’s tribe specializes in digital marketing, message strategies targeting Generation Y and Z, and graphic design.
In 2015 Sara was named on the 40 under 40 list by San Antonio Business Journal and received an Entrepreneurial Spirit Award from NAWBO San Antonio. Sara was previously a board member of the American Marketing Association in San Antonio, and started her career serving as the Operations Manager for a website design agency and SEO firm.
In her spare time, Sara likes to travel to foreign countries and hang out with her best friend and husband, Jason.
What apprenticeship experience did you benefit from most?
Internships galore! I did three internships when I was in college and ow it to the crazy folks who gave me that chance, because I graduated knowing exactly what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be.
What emerging marketing technology excites you?
The segmentation of social media audiences because of the all the new goodies coming out everyday – Snapchat, Yik-Yak, Yo!, Periscope….and the list goes on and on. Also excited by e-commerce e-mail marketing strategies – I love shopping cart abandonment and I love personalization. How did I ever know what I wanted to shop for before those brilliant non-spammy tactics existed?
